Latest news Below is a screen shot for a map written for an 07 CBR1000RR with a Staintune pipe on it. When considering what you will use to get the fueling right on your bike, you may be looking at cheaper units such as the SFI or similar units that only ADD fuel. They claiim that modern bikes run lean, especially with a pipe etc and so you should only need to be adding fuel. Well considering this is a Staintune fitted bike, and we mapped it on the dyno using Tuning Link and a Power Commander, you can see in the table, the values needed to achieve the correct air/fuel ratio are mostly MINUS figures, ie: removing fuel. So you're hardly helping your bike with a fueling product that only adds fuel. Hope this helps sort out some "MYTHS" re mapping of modern bikes. Feb 08: Birdman (Trev) has been chosen by the Factory Yamaha super sport team for data logging of air/fuel and mapping of the super sport bikes at testing as well as mapping the bikes on the dyno as he's been doing for the last few years anyway. With Jeremy Crowe winning the Mallala round in 08 and breaking the lap record while he was at it, you know you're using the best with Doin' Bikes.
Click to: Check out Colin Edwards smashing Birdman after his accident: We are back on track as of 14th Jan, after a nasty bike accident on the 2nd Dec left Trev (Birdy) in hospital with 2 broken arms, a fractured skull and a bruised spleen. The arms are out of the cast as of the 18th, so get booked in now as we'll be busy catching up with the mapping of bikes missed since the accident. We hope everyone has a safe and happy new year. All the best for 08. |
