V-ROD

This V-Rod had after market pipes and had a bit of a flat spot when cruising at speed and rolling on. The Power Commander solved that problem as well as giving more power from 5 on. As with some other graphs we've done, although the 100% throttle runs give half the picture, riding on the road gives the complete picture. The bike was smoother, delivered power better and pulled harde everywhere after it was mapped.

As with any bike, once you start adding performance parts or for that matter even if you don't, the fueling is far from being right. You can go with the "bolt on" method of Screaming Eagle maps or ecu's etc, or you can get it done right first up. Here is an air/fuel chart of a "Chips" style Harley (haha) we did before and after mapping.

At 4000rpm and 100% throttle, it was running at 15:1. Not a real good situation for your motor. Now, a pre-done map may help that, by adding fuel at that point, it may not, it may make it worse, every bike is different and so, there is no way of saying you are heading in the right direction without measuring the needs of your bike to begin with. As you can imagine, the bike now drives harder off of turns and is much smoother everywhere.
